CARPET FACTORY "KHUJUM"

From time immemorial, carpets have been a symbol of luxurious life, full of prosperity and home comfort. The Khujum factory was opened in 1992 and the production of hand-made silk carpets was launched here, using a hook and scissors - simple hand tools.

The old production methods are still in use today. Paints are used from natural products. Pomegranate skins, asparagus stalks, walnut shells, and other ingredients are boiled in large cauldrons to produce the desired color. Silk is also made exclusively from natural threads. Their staining is done by hand, the only way to get a 100% perfect shade.

At the factory, you will be able to see huge cauldrons for boiling paint, silkworm cocoons, special devices and tools, and, of course, the production process itself. The more carpet knots the master makes, the more complex and beautiful the drawing is. Carpets come out of indescribable beauty, in which oriental patterns fascinate the eye and give the product a mystery. The drawings are so masterfully executed that one gets the feeling that they were not woven, but painted with paints and these are watercolor paintings. Mostly on the carpets they use ornaments of the plant world and this distinguishes the Samarkand carpets from the Bukhara ones, on which there are geometric patterns.
